Using Your Repository

Once you've registered an account with us, and configured an SSH key you'll be able to clone your repository.

As a quick example you might add a new zone steve.fi by running something like this:

$ git clone repos@git.dns-api.com:steve DNS/
$ cd DNS
$ echo "+steve.fi:127.0.0.1:300 > zones/steve.fi
$ git add zones/steve.fi
$ git commit . -m "Added steve.fi"
$ git push

Once you run "git push" your changes will be processed and the new domain should become live shortly afterwards.

Sample Repository

We have a sample repository which you can examine here:

This repository demonstrates how to host DNS-data for multiple domains, and shows a good range of the record-types: A, AAAA, MX, & etc.
